My mom said that I can have the record player that’s in our old apartment as soon as it’s fixed :) I thought my dad had it at his place but he has an older one and the one I’m getting is apparently better than his :)

I’m definitely bidding on a Kinks album on ebay but I have 2 problems:
1. I don’t know which one is better: the unplayed one with a gorgeous cover (not sure if that means that the record’s fine or not…it could be messed up) or the one with a cover with some staining and ringwear but a good record
2. I always get outbid in the last second (usually the auctions end when I’m sleeping because of the time difference - most of them end at like 4 AM)
If a record on ebay is “unplayed” is it a good idea to get it?
I don’t want to risk getting a record that’s messed up so maybe I shouldn’t get it…
